The big talk is the new Jurassic Park. I mean Jurassic World. As I have not been to a theater since 1995 I will wait till it comes on SyFy or FX. Depends how long of a run or how much it makes I guess before it hits these venues.
I just watched the original on TV. Setting up a little hype for the new one starting Saturday. Laura Dern started a kind of cool fashion trend with the work boots with short pants. Looked hot to me! Ford Explorers were hot then as Jeep Wranglers. A lot of product placement. Product placement is an advertising method that is very effective.
Listening to NPR (National Public Radio) yesterday morning they were mentioning that a lot of remakes and sequels are coming out. Hollywood has always done this. I still like the original World Of The Worlds made in 1952. It had some really good special effects. The more I watch those 1950s movies, the more I realize that they had a lot of technology then. Even in the 1930s. President Roosevelt had a car phone in the 1930s.
Turner Classic Movies show silent films from the 1900 to the 1920s. Ever heard of Ben Hur before. They made it in the 1920s. So many of these movies were made in the 1920s. Remade when sound pictures came out in 1928. then to be remade again in the 1940s and 1950s. Only to be redone later. A good story deserves to be told again. A lot of films however are a one shot deal. With the understanding that they could never be made better or simply should not have been made at all.
