Taking A Break From Not Buying And Frugality

The last couple of months have caused me to spend more than I regularly would. I bought a lot of stuff I did not really need.
I bought bicycle wheels I could have done without. Tires too. Watch repair items. This will hopefully pay for itself. The thing is buying things you do not really need.
In March I was in a frantic search for a replacement of my computers as then were becoming obsolete. I got over that and now my ten year monitor is working on and off. So I have one ordered to replace it. Because one time it just may not come back on. As I have to have to start it several times to get it to come on. And other times it just works fine. Is it the screen or the computers visual drivers? If I get another screen the computer may be the fault. Not the screen. Who knows. Too late now as the other one is on the way. Then I will have a spare with the old one which is working today. Adding clutter. I was able to do a few things to extend the computers usefulness for now anyway. The first thing is to store anything that you feel you must have. Maybe on an external hard drive. Then go to system restore. You can generally restore your computer to a past date. Or restore it to the condition with which it came in from the box. Then you have to go to your add or delete programs and get rid of a lot of stuff that comes with new computers. The first thing I like to delete is the anti virus that was installed. Then blow out any other programs for internet and obsolete features such as Musicmatch and a sundry amount of others. At this time you should have already picked an anti virus of your choice. Try to pick the one which has the best rating with your operating system. At this time do not bother to update your search engine to Internet Explorer. If you use an older computer that came with Internet Explorer 6 or 7 and have updated to 8 it is a moot point. As a lot of websites are no longer supporting that program and will not update to Internet Explorer 9. Use Firefox or Google Chrome. You will have to add all your bookmarks and programs if you wish.
This week I had two pairs of work shoes blow out. Guess I need to buy new work shoes. Got to have them.
My toaster is acting up. It is twelve years old. My microwave is twelve years old too. But is still working at this juncture. So some time in the future I will have to spend money to replace these aging appliances. But in the meantime I will clean and try to maintain them. It will extend there usefulness. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But you do not know unless you try.
We all like to spend money. We all say that we like to save money. But when we say that we like to save money, do we really? I think deep down we will spend to the max. Everything we can. For immediate satisfaction. Fulfill your wants not your needs.
As a friend said to me lately, if you do not live a little you are just like a plant. But just do not push it to far and you should be OK.
