It is a known fact that cooking and eating at home saves you money. But another fact is that you have to be able to use the leftovers. So plan for leftovers when you cook the primary meal. In most cases it can be made to use in the same fashion as it was originally cooked. Or to be used in another way. Like a meat loaf then used for sandwiches later. Mashed potatoes then fried later.
I have had the home cooking thing down for a while. But have found that I am not using the leftovers. Being shoved to the rear of the fridge only to be discarded. Try to use the leftovers within two or freeze them if you do not think you are going to use it quickly. Like large batches of soup. Freeze the most and leave a bit around for the next day or two.
Everything is going up in price. Most wages aren't. So my wasting of food is not the best plan. I know people who always eat out. So if they spend $10 on a meal and eat it all they are done. If I spend that much and get two or three meals out of it I am saving money. If I don't I waste money. Simple as that.
Not being wealthy is not a crime. But being poor and wasting things is somewhat of crime. The way that most crimes are paid for is with time and money. Your time at work. If you make ten dollars an hour and take out taxes you make about seven dollars an hour. So every seven dollars you make cost an hour of your working time. Not just your time. The time you spend earning.
Most packaging is not geared for a single serving. Two at least. So try to make and use this for two meals. I am going to try to get better at this.
