As a society we have became hooked on hype. Some new product comes out. A sporting event. A holiday (which are only becoming holidays for people that do not work anyway). The people that work are being drug into the ground. Weird shifts. Long days. Odd days off. Etc. The people living with the same standard are at home doing nothing. The ones that are thinking they are doing well will be in for it in the near future.
The Stupid Bowl generated a lot of money for some people. But who? Every one else spent money on it. Christmas generated a lot of money for someone. But who? Everyone else got a lot of bills. Junk they didn't need. That's it. We all get exited about a day, event or anything else that really doesn't mean anything.
If you can drop the hype you can find yourself being happier. Do not be disappointed that a boss you have has or will lie to you if they have lied to someone they have been married to. If they would lie to them do you not think would lie to you? Take everything for face value at that time. Do not think that anything is going to last. We forget things very quickly. This day and age do not expect anyone to give you more than lip service (insincere agreement or payment of respect). We are all on our own little plain.
If you have been frugal. Going to be frugal. Now is the time. Try to save money any way you can. Acquire any little skills you can. Cut your cable down to the minimum. The backlash of this will be them raising the rates on the most basic. They did that in an effort to retain customers who were on the edge anyway. Buy some stamps. So what they went up to forty-nine cents. What can you buy for forty-nine cents? You will need them to make your payments when the internet goes down. So keep on getting paper statements from the ones that bill you. Even if the internet doesn't go down. You may loose access to it. Making it impossible for you to make your payments. Leaving you in default. Hold on to both internet and paper for now.
Keep at least a half a tank of fuel in your automobile if you have one. You never know when you may wake up and not have any fuel or utilities available to you. This way you will have at least one hundred miles or so if you need it. I hope that I am wrong. But read the signs.
