How Do You Get Around?

How do you get around? Most of us have to count on some sort of machine to get around. The vast majority use automobiles. Some use motorcycyles. Others bicycles. Or just walk. The mode you have to incorporate has a lot to do with distance.
Over the last five years I have been able to do the most of my commuting on a bicycle. This makes me one of those weid people you see riding a bicycle on the road as you pass by in your automobile. I am lucky though as my commute is only about four miles. Over the last four years I have only put 1500 miles on my automoblie.
I have found that a lot of people have to drive somewhere, anywhere to feel that they can get their day fulfilled. A lot of times it has nothing to do with a job or any necessity. Just getting out. That is why we as a nation burn so much energy. Take a look at where and when you drive. Is it a necessity? Waste not, want not.
I am the "pot calling the kettle black" here in the past. At one time I had a "89 Chevy Blazer, a "03 S10 pickup, a '06 Miata, and a motorcyle in my barn at the same time. Still never racking up over 3000 miles a year on them all. Plus the cost of insurance and tags. Many of those miles where from people who borrows my machines to do something with. Did I get anything but an empty gas tank, a few dents and scracthes, and a shallow thank you? No. Again, I was the "cool" dummy to get something from.
